An Edinburgh classic, 109 Hanover street, a basement restaurant. The vibe is dark, snug and candles in wine bottles. The food consists of good classic French bistro items. The service is always friendly, not always quick, but your not here for an express meal your here to catch up with friends and enjoy food that transports you to the 6 corners of France. Their most popular menu item is probably the steak frites with the classic garlic butter sauce.
Under £20 this is a very well priced night out for Edinburgh, I would also suggest trying their Coq au vin or the roast chicken. The gravy was stunning. All of this wonderful food also comes with a great and affordable wine selection. I would highly recommend booking ahead, but it’s always worthwhile seeing if you can be squeezed in. the last Thursday of the Month there is usually an accordionist playing in the evening.
